About Us
Founder, Rebecca Helgeson, has over forty years experience working in various settings with individuals who have differing intellectual or developmental ability. The Beyond Compliance team specializes in teaching others to be creative with solutions and in supporting self-determination efforts through methods that are person-centered and promote person-first practices. We believe in promotion of individual choice and rights through coaching, teaching and mentoring individuals receiving supports as well as the staff who work the closest with them. Rebecca began her career as a direct support professional and has gained experience through positions as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation professional, QIDP, Quality Assurance and Risk Management Director, and a nationwide consultant in the area of supports for individuals with differing abilities.
Our Mission
Through education, exposure, and experience, it is our mission to identify and bridge potential gaps among individuals supported, their family members, providers of supports & services and case management/governmental agencies. By fostering understanding, partnership, and advocacy to ensure a person-centered network of support, it is our goal to build a collaborative community honoring autonomy, choice and independence.
